Biografie

Volker Staub, born in 1961 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, opened up new musical territories by combining the results of intensive natural/environmental sound research with today's instrumental and vocal music. Since 1981, he has developed and built experimental musical instruments and sound installations, which he uses in his own works.

In 2012 he founded the One Earth Orchestra. Highlighting the strong link between biological and cultural diversity. This ensemble has collected musical dialogues with indigenous communities in India, North and South America, exploring, documenting and also integrating their music in projects in Germany.

Volker Staub has received fifteen national and international awards, including the Hessian Composition Award and bursaries for the Villa Massimo Rome and Villa Aurora Los Angeles. Concerts have taken him to many countries in Europe, North- and South America, Asia and to Australia. His works have been presented in numerous radio shows, TV portraits and CD releases.
